Mohan Charan Majhi takes oath as the Chief Minister of Odisha in Bhubaneswar


Odisha Government Swearing-in: Odisha’s new Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi took oath as the new CM on Wednesday (12 June). In the swearing-in ceremony of the Odisha government, CM Mohan Charan Majhi and two deputy chief ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Dev and Pravati Parida also took oath.

Odisha’s nominated CM Mohan Charan Majhi took oath as Chief Minister at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. After this, BJP leader Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo took oath as Deputy Chief Minister at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. In the same sequence, Odisha’s nominated Deputy Chief Minister Pratibha Parida took oath as Deputy Chief Minister at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. Apart from this, Suresh Pujari, Ravinarayan Naik, Nityananda Gond, Krishna Chandra Patra took oath as ministers in the cabinet of Odisha CM Mohan Majhi.

These leaders took oath as Minister of State

During this, Prithviraj Harichandan, Bibhuti Bhushan Jena and Mukesh Mahaling took oath for the post of Minister of State. Whereas, Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Suryabanshi Suraj, Gokula Nand Mallick and Pradeep Balasamanta took oath for the post of Minister of State (Independent Charge).

Senior BJP leaders including PM Modi also arrived

PM to attend swearing-in ceremony of Mohan Charan Majhi as Chief Minister of Odisha Narendra Modi have also reached Bhubaneswar. Apart from PM Modi, Home Minister Amit ShahJP Nadda, Rajnath Singh and Haryana CM Nayab Saini, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Assam CM Himanta Vishwa Sharma have also reached Bhubaneswar. During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to former Chief Minister and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik after the conclusion of the swearing-in ceremony of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

BJP won 78 seats in the assembly elections

52-year-old Mohan Charan Majhi, who belongs to the Santhal tribe, is a resident of Keonjhar district of the state. In the recently held elections, Mohan Charan Majhi retained the seat by defeating BJD’s Meena Majhi by 11,577 votes. In the Odisha Assembly elections, the BJP has won 78 out of 147 seats.
