Monstrous zombie insects that can wipe out crocodiles from the face of the earth! don’t even leave a skeleton

Crocodiles are considered the most powerful predators on earth. If anyone gets trapped in their jaws, it is not only difficult but impossible to escape. But now scientists have discovered an insect which can completely wipe out these crocodiles. They would even penetrate their thick skin and eat the skeleton. Scientists have named them ‘zombie insects’.

According to a report by Independent, in 2019, scientists from Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium conducted an experiment. He dropped three dead crocodiles 6,560 feet into the Gulf of Mexico. Wanted to see which animals could eat them at such depths of the sea. Because the skin of crocodiles is very thick. Even the bullet has no effect on his skin. You can think of it like a body armor or a bulletproof jacket. Crocodile’s skin is called scutes which is made of keratin. Therefore it is not easy to penetrate. But what the scientist saw, he was surprised.

dragged for 30 feet
According to the report published in PLOS magazine, the weight of a crocodile was about 39 kg, yet the insects dragged it up to 30 feet. Not only this, the ropes with which these crocodiles were tied were also cut. Within a day, 9 big isopods entered the crocodile’s skin and started eating the meat. The second crocodile had fallen about 100 km away, which was eaten by these insects in just 51 days. Even his skull and spinal cord did not survive. The third crocodile was eaten by deep sea crustaceans within just 8 days.

adept at sucking bones
Scientists found that the rope with which the crocodile was tied was about 20 kg. Which would have become heavier after getting wet in water. Despite this the insects were successful in biting him. Tests showed that “zombie worms” usually suck the bones of the dead and survive on these. These have never been seen before in Mexico. These are usually seen in Antarctica and California. This is the first time that such creatures have been seen here.
