Ingredients for Moong Ka Halwa
Yellow moong dal – 1 cup
Milk – 1 cup
Saffron – 1 pinch
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Chopped almonds – 2 tbsp
Desi ghee – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 1 cup

Moong Ka Halwa Recipe
To make moong dal halwa, first clean the dal, wash it thoroughly and soak it in water for 3 hours. After the fixed time, put the dal in a strainer and filter it and remove all the water. Now grind the pulse coarsely with the help of a mixer jar and keep it aside in a vessel. Now take some lukewarm milk in a bowl and add saffron to it and mix it well with a spoon and keep it aside.

Now take a deep bottom pan and add ghee to it and heat it on medium flame. When the ghee melts, add coarsely ground paste of moong dal and roast it. Dal has to be roasted till its color turns golden brown. It may take 25-30 minutes for the dal to cook properly. Meanwhile, roast the dal while stirring continuously.

When the lentils are well roasted, add one cup of milk and one cup of lukewarm water to it and mix well. After this, once again cook the lentils on medium flame for 7-8 minutes while stirring. After this add one cup of sugar (as per taste) to the dal and add saffron milk and cardamom powder on top and mix it well.

Mix all the ingredients well with the help of a ladle. After this, let the moong dal halwa cook for another 4-5 minutes. After this turn off the gas. Delicious Moong Halwa is ready. Garnish it with slivers of almonds. Even after putting it in the serving bowl, the halwa can be garnished with almond slivers.
