Voting took place on Tuesday for the annual elections of The Bar Association and Library. 73 candidates are in the fray for 21 posts including President and General Secretary. Booths have been made in the new building of the bar for voting. Police force was deployed in the court to ensure peaceful completion of the elections. The voting process had started from 10 in the morning. The candidates have left no stone unturned in the annual Bar elections.

The candidates were busy campaigning for the last one month. Anand Mohan Gupta, Pradeep Sinha alias Babli, Parmal Singh are in the fray for the post of President, while six candidates Abhishek Bhatnagar, Ashok Kumar Singh, Kuldeep Tyagi, Javed Hasan, Dilip Kumar Jha and Rajesh Kumar are trying their luck for the post of General Secretary.

The agenda of all the candidates is to re-establish the registry office in the court. Monday was the last day of election campaigning. Keeping this in mind, the candidates campaigned with full vigor. Along with his colleagues in the court, he went to the chambers of every advocate and appealed to vote in his favor.

Slogans of advocate unity were raised in the form of a procession in the court. In this annual election, 73 candidates had filed nominations for 21 posts. The fate of 73 candidates will be sealed in the ballot boxes by Tuesday evening.

2465 lawyers will be able to vote

Acting Chairman of Elder Committee, Vijay Gupta said that voting started at 10 am. Which will continue till five in the evening. During this period 2465 voters can use their vote.

Acting Chairman of Elder Committee Vijay Gupta and members Subhash Chandra Garg, Sudhir Gupta Jagdish Saran told that regarding the annual elections, Elder Committee and Election Committee which includes Narendra Singh Chauhan, Shamsher Singh, Thakur Anil Kumar Singh, Khaliqjumma, Satish Vishnoi Sandeep Khanna, Ajayveer Tyagi, Ajaypal Singh, Sanjay Saxena Soni, Ramesh Singh Arya, Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Jagdish Chandra Mishra, Manoj Gupta, Vishal Kant, Arshad Parvez, Anil Kumar Chauhan Ompal Singh, Vivek Sharma, Ashkar Hussain Jafar Ali, Pramod Eachi etc. Will cooperate in the election process.

Registry office issue heated up in debate

A debate was conducted among the candidates before the annual elections of The Bar Association and Library. In which the candidates made promises to the voters including the registry office, respect for the advocates and curbing the strike. Before the annual election of advocates, a debate program was organized among the candidates by Advocate Rapid Action Welfare Organization.

Before voting, a debate program is organized by the organization’s members Advocate Shakir Ali, Rakesh Johri, Muzaffar Hussain and PK Goswami. In the debate held on Monday also, the candidates said that they raised the issue of registry office in Moradabad court.

The registry office was shifted from the court. Due to which not only the advocates but also the general public who get themselves registered are facing a lot of problems. For which the office will be brought back to the court through the government administration.

The candidates also said that there is a need to curb strikes in the court. Their main objective will also be to create a good mutual environment between the bar and the bench. No compromise can be made to protect the interests of advocates. For them the interest of the advocate is paramount.

Advocates will be able to vote with identity card

Voting took place at SP Gupta Advocate Bhawan located in the court. Acting Chairman of the Elder Committee, Vijay Gupta said that one must bring along the identity card containing the COP number issued by the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh and the identity card of the local Bar Association.

In the annual elections, three candidates are in the fray for the post of President, four for the post of Vice President, 6 for the post of General Secretary, 16 for the post of Joint Secretary, 6 for Vice President Junior, 6 for Treasurer, 14 for Executive Senior, and 18 for Executive Junior. 73 candidates are contesting the elections.

He said that the vehicle stand will remain closed for three consecutive days from Tuesday and the advocates will remain away from work in the court during the elections and counting of votes.
