Due to overloading in summer, AB wires burnt in many places in the city. Due to this, there was power outage in many localities. The video of fire in wires around the pole in Pakbara went viral on social media. Despite this, the electricity corporation did not become alert. The power went off at seven in the evening and did not come back till late night.

On the other hand, people in Khushalpur’s Basant Vihar are facing problems since the last five days. There are more than 350 houses in this colony. People say that a big fault occurred five days ago. Due to this, electricity remains off throughout the night. It comes during the day but due to tripping, fridge, AC etc. have to be kept off.

The same problem persisted on Sunday as well. Electricity came but the voltage was so low that even the fan would not run properly. People called everyone from JE to SDO and XEN but no one picked up the call. Angry people reached Deenbandhupuram power station and created a ruckus.

Walker Peter, Sumit Sharma, Atul Saxena, Prem Kumar, Pulkesh Gupta, Vipin Singh, Subhashish etc. told that after the uproar, the JE sent staff to repair the fault. Then electricity came at 11 pm. Similarly, the people of Kabir Nagar on Rampur Road were also troubled by the problem of low voltage and tripping.

Officials tested the system at night

On the orders of the MD of PVVNL, the top officials of the Electricity Corporation visited the power houses at night and inspected the arrangements. Chief Engineer RK Bansal along with subordinate officials checked the power houses at the taxi stand, town hall etc. after 10 pm.

He says that people often complain that the power station’s phones are not answered at night. So, after reaching there, the officer tried calling the staff from an unknown number. At that time, the staff’s phone was answered. He instructed the JE and SDO to keep their CUG numbers on for 24 hours.
