However, SP leaders celebrated the death anniversary by garlanding the photo of Savitribai Phule instead of Ramabai Ambedkar, whereas Savitribai Phule’s death anniversary is celebrated on March 10.
This happened when the name of Savitribai Phule was written in clear English words on the photo. Neither did any SP member see the photo nor did he bother to read the name written on it. After this, in a photo viral on social media, the party candidate from Moradabad Lok Sabha seat Ruchiveera is seen garlanding the photo of Savitribai Phule.
After the photo went viral, the SP released the news of the meeting, but there was no mention of the death anniversary in it. Meanwhile, SP leaders refrained from saying anything in this matter. SP District President Jaiveer Singh Yadav said that the party people did this by mistake.
