In Moradabad’s Bilari area, a 22-year-old man strangled a 48-year-old woman to death in a sugarcane field when she resisted rape. On Thursday, the police arrested the accused and solved the murder case. The accused has been sent to jail after being produced in court.

SP Rural Sandeep Kumar Meena said that a 48-year-old woman resident of a village in Bilari police station area had gone to the field to uproot paddy saplings on July 8. After this she did not return home. When the police and the villagers searched for the woman, her body was found lying in a sugarcane field.

The postmortem report confirmed that the murder was committed by strangulation. The police, engaged in investigation, detained and questioned Lal Singh, a resident of Bhud Maresi, Bilari, on the basis of suspicion. He told the police that on the day of the incident, the woman was uprooting paddy saplings in her field.

Accused Lal Singh was working in his field near him. Accused Lal Singh said that at around 4 pm his mother and brother went home with the tractor. After this he was alone on the field. During this time the woman stopped uprooting the saplings and entered the sugarcane field to cut grass.

Meanwhile, the accused also reached there and tried to rape the woman. When the woman resisted, he gagged her mouth. Due to which she fainted. Later, the accused strangled her with the woman’s cord.

After interrogating ten people, police reached Lal Singh

Bilari police station in-charge RP Singh and his team started working on this case from the very first day. They interrogated ten people working in the fields around the field where the woman’s body was found. During this, it was found out that Lal Singh was present on the field the whole day. Then the police caught Lal Singh and interrogated him.
