Brother-in-law Gulfam killed sister-in-law Fareen with a knife on Saturday morning in Rehmatnagar of Katghar. Hearing the screams, people from the neighborhood reached the spot. He informed the police about the incident. The police have taken the accused into custody and started interrogation.

The body has been sent for post-mortem. Earlier on Friday, Chaudhary Rajveer Singh (56), former head of Rasulpur Gausar village of Mainather police station area, was shot dead. Jagdish and his two sons from the same village committed this crime due to old rivalry and money transactions.

The police have registered a report against the three and arrested Jagdish and one of his minor sons. Chaudhary Rajveer Singh, resident of Rasulpur Gausar village of Mainather, was the village head from 2000 to 2005. Rajveer’s son Somveer Singh alias Sonu told that his father and other family members were present in the house on Friday morning.

At around 6:30 in the morning, Jagdish from the village reached the gate of his house with his two sons and called out to his father. As soon as he came out of the house, the accused shot the father near the door with a pistol on his temple.

Hearing the sound of the bullet, Somveer, Somveer’s wife Urmila Devi and other family members came running out of the house and found Rajveer lying near the door in a bloody condition. When Sonu tried to catch the murderers, they ran away towards their house waving weapons.

After this incident, a crowd of villagers gathered at the spot and the police was called to the spot. The post-mortem report revealed that the former chief was shot on his temple with a pistol. The bullet had gone out while flying.
