Sakina (24) from Amroha died shortly after delivery on Tuesday night at Makhdoomi Hospital in Pakbara. The condition of the newborn is also critical. The family members, angry with the woman’s death, created a ruckus in the hospital. The health department team, which arrived on information, sealed the hospital.
Adil, a resident of Patai Khalsa village of Didauli police station in Amroha, works as a woodcutter. He admitted his pregnant wife Sakina to Makhdoomi Hospital in Khwaja Colony of Pakbara at 10 am on Tuesday. The woman’s maternal home is in Kanth.
Sakina had a normal delivery at 11 pm. Shortly after, her health deteriorated and she died. The angry family members created a ruckus by placing the woman’s body outside the hospital. Seeing the opportunity, quack Rahil Khan and the staff fled from the spot.
When the complaint of the matter reached the health department, it was found that the hospital was being run without registration and without specialist doctors. On getting information about the incident and uproar, City Magistrate Kinshuk Srivastava and CO Highway Kuldeep Gupta reached the spot.
Also, Deputy CMO Dr. Narendra Chaudhary was called. In the presence of officials, the health department sealed the hospital. The woman’s body was sent for post-mortem.
