More Than 100 Android Apps Were Affected By Dangerous Malware Here Is The List

Android Apps affected by SpinOk Malware: Malware attacks are on the rise. Hackers hide malware in different forms in different places to steal people’s data. Be it apps or websites, malware attacks are seen everywhere these days. Meanwhile, malware has been found in more than 100 apps on the Google Play Store, which was stealing people’s personal data and sending it to remote servers. Dr. Web’s security researchers, in collaboration with Bleeping Computer, have identified 101 Android apps with the SpinOk spyware. The worse news is that all these apps have been downloaded more than 400 million times. Means hackers were stealing people’s data for a long time.

Researchers said that this spyware was disguised as an advertising SDK that looked normal to users and offered minigames every day with daily rewards to attract users so that they would stay on the apps. Once downloaded, this malware used to steal people’s data and send it to remote servers where hackers used to see this data. Researchers said that each of the apps had different levels of malicious content, some of which still contain harmful software or specific versions or some have been removed.

more than 42 million downloads

The bad news is that these apps have been downloaded 42,12,90,300 times. That is, cyber fraud can happen with the people who had downloaded these apps because their data is available with hackers. However, researchers have given an update to Google about this and have also warned people to remove these apps from mobile immediately so that nothing wrong happens to them.
