More Than 150 Projects Worth Two And A Half Thousand Crores Finalized For Mahakumbh

Proposals of more than 150 long-term projects for Mahakumbh-2025 were finalized on Thursday. These projects costing Rs 2.5 thousand crore also include five ROBs for the development of the city. Now these projects will be placed before the high level committee constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. With the approval of the budget, the works will be started in the new year. A target has been set to complete these projects by October 2024.

Important projects of Mahakumbh include five ROBs related to the development of the city. The justification for these bridge projects presented by the Setu Nigam was found to be correct. Among these, the proposal for construction of ROB at Masika crossing near United Engineering College, IERT railway crossing, 40 number Gumti railway crossing at Phaphamau, Andawa Chauraha railway crossing, near Garapur-Sikandra, is prominent. Apart from this, proposals for widening and beautification of 42 roads were sealed along with connecting Kareli to New and Old Khusrobagh sub-centres with double circuit line.

To get the departmental budget of Mahakumbh approved two years ago, these projects will now be placed before the committee headed by CM Yogi. At present, work will be done in the first phase at a cost of Rs 600 crore. Apart from improving hospitality facilities, proposals for construction of pucca ghats were also finalised. Apart from this, preparations were also discussed to make the Rae Bareilly to Prayagraj road four-lane, to expand the Prayagraj airport, to complete the Inner Ring Road before Mahakumbh-2025. Plans for the renovation of Triveni Pushp and Curzon Bridge were also discussed from the point of view of tourism.

The long-term projects proposed for Mahakumbh taking more than two years were asked to start work from January next year itself. On this occasion, officers of various departments including Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, Kumbh Mela Adhikari Vijay Kiran Anand, ADM Kumbh Dayanand Prasad, Mela Adhikari Arvind Chauhan, Municipal Commissioner Chandramohan Garg, PWD Chief Engineer KK Pahuja were present.
