More than 5 crore in India, know how many court cases are pending in Pakistan


Recently a report of the Supreme Court Observer came. According to this, in January 2024, more than 80000 cases were pending in the Supreme Court. At the same time, by the end of 2023, more than 70,000 cases were pending in the Supreme Court of India. Whereas, the number of pending cases in all the courts of the country is more than 5 crores. Let us now know how many court cases are pending in Pakistan.

How many court cases are pending in India

Giving a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal had told that as of December 1, 2023, the number of pending cases in the courts of the country was 5,08,85,856. Out of this, more than 61 lakh cases were pending in 25 High Courts of the country. While the remaining more than 4.46 crore cases were pending in the district and subordinate courts.

Talking about the Supreme Court, the cases are increasing here every year. While there were 80,221 cases pending in the Supreme Court in January 2024, the number of pending cases in the Supreme Court in January 2023 was 78,400. Talking about the month of January 2022, there were 70,101 cases pending in the Supreme Court in this month. Currently, if we talk about the number of judges in the Supreme Court, the number of judges in the Supreme Court is 34.

How many cases are pending in the courts of Pakistan

The number of pending cases in the courts of Pakistan is also a matter of serious concern. According to the information available on the official website of the Associate Press of Pakistan, by the year 2023, the number of pending cases in the courts of Pakistan was more than 26 lakh. This number is given on the basis of pending cases in the Supreme Court, High Court and lower courts.

According to the information given on Pakistan Bar Council and Pakistani media institutions, The Dawn and The Express Tribune, the number of pending cases in Pakistan’s five High Courts – Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Islamabad and Balochistan is about 4 lakh. Whereas, in lower courts, such as District and Sessions Courts, more than 18 lakh cases are pending.
