The fraudulent mother-son duo, with the help of their two associates, defrauded ICICI Bank of Rs 4.45 crore. After taking loan twice by claiming someone else’s land and house as their own, they took out the money and digested it. When the bank employees did an investigation when the installment was not deposited, the secret came to light.

With the help of STF, Shahpur police on Tuesday arrested the mastermind, resident of Basti district. Police are searching for his mother and other associates. The role of some bank employees in the incident is also suspicious, it is being investigated.

SSP Dr. Gaurav Grover and SP City Krishna Kumar Bishnoi gave this information in a press conference at Police Lines on Tuesday afternoon. He told that Rudransh Pandey, who lives in Murlijot of Basti, lives with his mother Archana and father Rajesh in a built house in Raptinagar, Green Valley of Shahpur. In May 2022, Archana and her husband Rajesh applied for a home loan at the Medical College Road branch of ICICI Bank. For this, along with presenting fake documents, he got a loan of Rs 2 crore passed on 31 May 2022 by claiming someone else’s land as his own.
