Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPSHSE) has made an important announcement for the students of class 12th. From now on, students studying in class 12th will not be able to change subjects as per their wish. The board has clarified that the subjects which the students had chosen in class 11th, they will have to study the same subjects in class 12th also.
Apart from this, the board has said that if any subject has been changed by mistake while filling the examination form, then permission will be given to correct it. But this reform can be done at the school level only till 31 December 2024. A fixed fee will also be charged for this.
Fees and procedure for correction
Board of Secondary Education said that students will have to pay a fee of Rs 500 per subject to correct the errors in the subject. Error correction will be done through online system. Under this reform process, it will be mandatory for schools to upload the student’s 11th class marksheet and a declaration form on the MP online portal. It will be ensured that the subjects in which the error correction has been done are the same subjects which the student studied in class 11th and whose marksheet has been released by the school.
Strict action against schools
The board has warned that if any school changes the subjects by hiding the facts or wrongly, then disciplinary action will be taken against the Principal of the concerned school. In the case of government schools, a letter will be written to the Commissioner of the Directorate of Public Instruction, whereas the affiliation of private schools can be canceled with immediate effect.
ban on topic change
It is worth noting that earlier the facility to change subjects in class 12th was given in Madhya Pradesh Board, but now it has been completely banned. This facility was provided by the board till three years ago, but last year it was implemented only under certain special circumstances. Now the Board has completely abolished it, and students are allowed only error correction.
student complaints
Under this new rule, many students had appealed to the schools and boards to allow change of subject, but the board has limited it only to error correction. However, complaints are being received continuously from students and school principals regarding this, in which there was a demand to give more flexibility and opportunity to change the subject.
