Muharram Procession Clash in UP Maharashtra Bihar CM Yogi orders probe


Violent clash during Muharram procession: Shocking pictures have emerged from many states during the Muharram procession. According to reports, the pictures that have emerged from Kolhapur in Maharashtra, Amethi in Uttar Pradesh and Nawada in Bihar are disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of the country.

On July 14, there was a fierce clash between two communities on the issue of encroachment removal in Vishalgad of Kolhapur. During this, stone pelting took place, vandalism took place and many houses were set on fire.

Why did the commotion happen?

This ruckus happened over the removal of encroachment around the Dargah of Hazrat Malik Rehan in Vishalgarh Fort. The dispute in Vishalgarh Fort has been going on for the last two years. Actually, there is a Dargah of Hazrat Malik Rehan in the fort and Hindu organizations said, ‘People of the Muslim community are doing illegal construction around the Dargah.’ However, the administration had assured to remove the encroachment in the year 2022. Hindu organizations had appealed to march to the Dargah on July 14, after which there was a fierce clash between the people of both the communities on July 14.

There was uproar in Amethi too

Many videos of provocative slogans during the Muharram procession have also surfaced from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, which are viral on social media. In this regard, the police have registered a case against unknown people. At the same time, the police is questioning the 6 youths seen in the video. The police has also said that strict action will be taken in this matter. Anoop Kumar Singh, SP, Amethi said, ‘A video has come to notice through social media. The people seen in the video have been detained and are being questioned. Cases have been registered against them under several sections. The video is being investigated and whatever legal action is necessary will be taken.’

Yogi government in action mode

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh yogi adityanath On Monday (July 15, 2024), he held a meeting with police officers and instructed them to be fully alert. CM Yogi said, ‘Anarchy will not be tolerated at all and the administration and police should deal with the anarchic elements with full strictness.’
Yogi government minister Dayashankar Singh said, ‘Such slogans spread religious frenzy. Some anarchist elements do this with the intention of spoiling the atmosphere but there is a Yogi government in UP which is not going to spare them.’

The atmosphere in Bihar has deteriorated

News of deteriorating atmosphere has also come from Bihar’s Nawada where during the Muharram procession a youth waved the flag of Palestine, the video of which is also viral on social media. After this incident, the police has become active and interrogation is going on by taking some youths into custody.
