Mukhtar Ansari: 26 Years Passed But Banaras Rungta Family Did Not Get Justice

Mafia Mukhtar Ansari and his gang members have also deeply wounded the family of Nand Kishore Rungta, a coal businessman and treasurer of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, a resident of Jawahar Nagar Extension, Varanasi. The MP-MLA court of Ghazipur, in the case related to the Gangster Act, in which Mukhtar has been sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment, also mentions the kidnapping and murder of Nand Kishore Rungta.

The original case related to the kidnapping and murder of Nand Kishore Rungta is still pending in the court. The CBI is pursuing this case. Two miscreants named in the case have not been caught even after 26 years. A reward of two lakh rupees each has been announced by the CBI against both.

Mukhtar was found as a coal trader

On January 23, 1997, Mahavir Prasad Rungta, a resident of Jawahar Nagar Extension, lodged a case of kidnapping of his brother Nand Kishore Rungta at Bhelupur police station. He alleged that on January 22, 1997, Vijay Singh and his accomplices abducted his brother in a white Maruti van.
