Mukhtar Ansari Died: Mafia Mukhtar Ansari, who was once synonymous with terror in the districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, once used to speak loudly even in jails. At one time, a badminton court was even built for him in a jail in Uttar Pradesh.

The story of the badminton court built in the jail for Mukhtar Ansari was narrated by former jailer SK Awasthi. SK Awasthi retired from the post of jailer about 11 years ago.

SK Awasthi had told in a conversation with The Lallantop that in 2007, he was posted in Ghazipur, the home district of Mukhtar Ansari. Before he could reach there, Mukhtar Ansari was sent to Agra jail. According to SK Awasthi, a badminton court was built inside the jail for Mukhtar Ansari, where the officers used to play with him.

Mukhtar Ansari also got VIP treatment in Punjab jail!

Harjot Bains, a minister in the Punjab government, had claimed in 2022 that Mukhtar Ansari was being given VIP treatment during the Captain’s government in the state. He had said that Mukhtar Ansari was kept like a VIP in Ropar jail. Bains had said that two barracks were vacated for Mukhtar Ansari and his family members were allowed to come and go in the jail. He had alleged that a fake FIR was lodged to bring Mukhtar Ansari here.

According to news agency PTI, 65 cases ranging from murder to extortion were registered against Mukhtar Ansari, yet he was elected MLA five times on tickets of different political parties. Born in 1963 into an influential family, Ansari entered the world of crime to establish himself and his gang in the government contract mafia flourishing in the state. In the beginning of 1978, at the age of just 15, Ansari entered the world of crime.

The first case was registered against Ansari under Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code at Saidpur police station in Ghazipur. At present, 21 cases were pending against Mukhtar Ansari in various courts.
