Entered the world of crime to avenge his father’s insult.
Former Uttar Pradesh DGP Brajlal has written a book on Mukhtar Ansari’s journey from a college student to a hardened criminal. He has named this book ‘Dedh Biswa Zameen’. After all, understand how this Dead Biswa land is related to Mukhtar Ansari. There were many people like Mukhtar Ansari in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh, known for patriotism, who created a separate world of crime by living here, settled it and kept that world of crime populated through various murders. Sadhu Singh and Maknu Singh were residents of Mudiyar village of Saidpur Kotwali area of this district. He had brutally killed his uncle Rampat Singh and his three sons. This entire dispute was regarding one and a half biswa i.e. about 5 bighas of land. In the decade of 80, Mukhtar Ansari, along with studying in college, had started bullying in the area.
During this period, his father was the chairman of Nagar Panchayat from Mohammadabad. Another influential person in the area was Sachchidanand Rai. There was a dispute between Sachchidanand and Mukhtar’s father regarding some issue. Sachchidanand said many good and bad things to Mukhtar’s father in the market. When Mukhtar came to know about this, he decided to kill Sachchidanand Rai, but Rai community was influential in Mohammadabad, hence it was not easy for Mukhtar to kill him. He sought help from Sadhu and Maknu Singh to carry out his conspiracy. Both of them placed their hands on Mukhtar’s back and Sachchidanand Rai was killed. After this, Mukhtar Ansari started considering Sadhu and Maknu as criminal gurus.
Political gurus asked for Ranjit Singh’s body
Now the time had come for the new criminal Mukhtar Ansari to give Guru Dakshina to Sadhu and Maknu. Both of them presented such a proposal to Mukhtar, which laid the foundation of the most dreadful criminal history in the entire Purvanchal. There were two brothers Chhatrapal Singh and Ranjit Singh of Mednipur near Saidpur and both were powerful and were challenging Sadhu and Maknu. Now the time for sacrifice had come in the battle for supremacy. Therefore, one day Sadhu and Maknu called Mukhtar and asked him to ask for Ranjit Singh’s body. The criminal gurus had asked for something for the first time, so Mukhtar could not refuse.
The method adopted by Mukhtar to murder Ranjit Singh was more dangerous than the movies. Mukhtar Ansari developed a friendship with Ramu Mallah who lived right in front of Ranjit Singh’s house. He made holes in the outer wall of Ramu and Ranjit’s house and one day he killed Ranjit by firing a bullet through both these holes. This was Mukhtar’s powerful entry into the world of crime which became more effective with many consecutive murders.
Brijesh Singh murdered crime gurus
Soon the news spread in the area as to who had murdered Ranjit and who did it on his request. That is, now the coinage of Mukhtar and his gurus Sadhu and Maknu started accumulating from Ghazipur to Varanasi. The name of the gang was Sadhu Maknu Gang and Mukhtar Ansari was its henchman. Later Sadhu and Maknu were also murdered. This murder was carried out by the gang of Ranjit Singh’s son Brijesh Singh, after which Mukhtar Ansari became the leader of this gang, which was the first step in his crime. Later, Brijesh Singh was arrested by the police and put in jail, after which Mukhtar had absolute rule in Purvanchal.
