The jails of UP have become the graveyard of many big mafia and notorious criminals. Apart from disease, gang wars in jails became the era of big criminals. CBI is investigating the case of murder of mafia Munna Bajrangi in Baghpat jail.
Let us tell you that before Mukhtar, mafia Khan Mubarak and notorious criminal Munir had also died of illness in jail. Munir, a resident of Bijnor, the murderer of NIA officer Tanjeel Ahmed, died due to illness on 21 November 2022 at BHU Medical College, Varanasi. Munir, who was lodged in Sonbhadra jail, was sentenced to death by the court. He had contracted an infection in jail. Similarly, Ambedkar Nagar mafia and notorious criminal Khan Mubarak, lodged in Hardoi jail, died due to illness on June 12, 2023. There were 44 cases registered against him. He was the younger brother of underworld don Zafar Supari.
Many criminals including Munna Bajrangi died in jail
Six years ago, mafia Munna Bajrangi was murdered in Baghpat jail by western Uttar Pradesh gangster Sunil Rathi. Similarly, on May 14, 2021, in Chitrakoot jail, Mukhtar’s close associate Meraj, mafia Mukeem Kala and notorious criminal Anshu Dixit died in a gang war. In January 2015, Rajesh Tota was killed in a gang war in Mathura jail between notorious criminals Brajesh Mavi and Rajesh Tota. On June 7 last year, mafia Sanjeev Maheshwari alias Jeeva was murdered in the court premises of Lucknow.
Atiq and Ashraf were murdered in Ramzan
Let us tell you that on April 15 last year in Prayagraj, during Ramzan, mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead by some youths. Both of them were brought to Prayagraj on remand in the murder case of Rajupal murder witness Umesh Pal. Both of them were brought to the hospital premises of Prayagraj for medical treatment, where they were murdered. The state government had constituted a judicial commission to investigate this matter, which has submitted its report to the government a few days ago.
