Bahubali Mukhtar Ansari’s elder brother is an MP and his son and nephew are MLAs. Politics has been flourishing between the three brothers for almost four decades.
Bahubali Mukhtar Ansari has three brothers. The eldest brother is Sigbatullah Ansari. He has been MLA from Mohammadabad twice. Won elections in 2012 on SP ticket and in 2017 on Qaumi Ekta Dal ticket. His elder son Suheb alias Mannu Ansari is SP MLA from Mohammadabad, Ghazipur, while two other sons Salman Ansari and Sahar Ansari are active in local politics and run their own business. The second brother Afzal Ansari is an MP. From 1985 to 1996, he was an MLA four times on CPI and once on SP ticket.
Reached Lok Sabha on SP ticket in 2004 and then became MP on BSP ticket in 2019. He has three daughters. Mukhtar Ansari’s son Abbas Ansari is the MLA from Mau on SubhaSP ticket in 2022. He is in jail these days. He has been a three-time national champion in shooting. Has also been a part of the Indian team in many international competitions. While the second son Umar Ansari does business. He is also absconding.
The family has been a fighter
Mukhtar Ansari’s grandfather Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Ansari was a freedom fighter. He was also the President of Congress. Mukhtar’s maternal grandfather, Brigadier Mohammad Usman, was awarded the Mahavir Chakra. Mukhtar’s father Subhanullah Ansari was a communist leader and was active in Ghazipur politics. Former Vice President Hamid Ansari is also said to be his relative.
