Cyber ​​criminals or thugs are targeting people in different ways. The latest case is from Mumbai where the scammer duped a school teacher of 80,000 by calling her an employee of EPFO.

Very professional way of swindling money

Actually, a woman living in Seawoods, Navi Mumbai was looking for the number of EPFO ​​employee online for some of her personal work. During this, she connected with a person who told her that he is an employee of EPFO ​​and asked her to download an app on mobile. The woman downloaded the mentioned app AirDroid in the phone and on the request of the person put all her personal information like bank details, M-PIN etc. in this app. Actually, the app in which the woman fed her data was a Spyware app which was sending all the details to the scammer. As soon as this app was put in the mobile, the teacher’s phone became a remote control device and the scammer stole 80 thousand rupees by doing different transactions from the woman’s account through the details.

When the woman realized that she had become a victim of a scam, she immediately lodged a report against the scammer at the nearest police station and narrated the entire incident to the police.

For this reason even educated people are easily falling in the net of cybercriminals. To keep yourself safe from such people, always be alert and use the Internet. Under any circumstances, do not upload or share your personal details etc. anywhere. Whenever it comes to transactions, be alerted immediately and do not reply to calls or messages and also report such calls or messages.
