Worli Hit And Run Case: On Sunday (7 July 2024), a speeding BMW car crushed a woman riding a bike in the Worli area of Mumbai, the country’s financial capital. The woman died due to this horrific accident. Whereas, the person driving the car fled from the spot. After about 72 hours of hide and seek, Mihir was finally caught by the police. According to NDTV report, Mumbai Police took three days to arrest the accused. According to information received from sources, it took so much time because the accused Mihir Shah, along with his mother and sisters, had switched off their mobile phones. However, the police were searching for the family members on the basis of the car number. During this time, Mumbai Police had also put Mihir’s friend’s phone number under surveillance and from here the police got a clue about Mihir.
How did Mihir Shah come under police custody after 72 hours?
Mumbai Police says that accused Mihir Shah had separated from his family and had come to Virar, about 65 km from Mumbai, with his friend. During this time, his friend opened his phone for 15 minutes in the morning, the police got his location, after which Mihir Shah was arrested. In this case, the police have so far detained a total of 12 people, including the mother and sisters of accused Mihir Shah.

On Sunday (7 July 2024) morning, a fish seller couple Pradeep Nakhwa and Kaveri Nakhwa were hit by a speeding BMW car in Worli area of Mumbai. In which the 24-year-old youth was allegedly driving the car at that time, while his driver Rajarshi Bidawat was sitting in the passenger seat. After this, the accused dragged the woman for about 1.5 km.
After this incident, Mumbai Police said that the accused Mihir Shah and driver Rajarshi Bidawat changed seats and crushed the victim again while reversing the car. After this, they fled quickly and since then Mihir Shah was absconding, and the police was searching for him.
