Kamil was roaming around with a licensed rifle in the car for three days to kill Nihal Khan, brother-in-law of Shakeel Khan, the chairman of Jalalabad Municipal Council of Shahjahanpur. On Wednesday night he got the opportunity and fired the shot. According to family sources, Nihal Khan was a close relative of Dawood Ibrahim. His sister was married to Dawood’s brother Iqbal Kaskar. The wife of the deceased has filed a report against the accused Kamil, but the reason is not mentioned. Here, three teams including SOG have been deployed to arrest the accused.
Nihal, a resident of Badlapura Nigari Street, Byculla Barihan, Mumbai, was a textile businessman and builder. He and his family had come from Mumbai on February 15 to attend the wedding of Chairman Shakeel’s son Abdul Razzaq. On Sunday, a marriage procession took place in a hotel in Shahjahanpur. On Wednesday night, the Chauthi (farewell of the bride by the groom’s side) ceremony was organized in Sultanpur village.
rifle kept in the trunk of the car
Accused brick kiln operator Kamil had arrived at the program in a car along with his wife and children. It is said that his licensed rifle was kept in the trunk of the car. At around ten o’clock in the night, after having dinner, Nihal was standing with other relatives on the small ground outside Ayub Ali’s house, at some distance from the venue, when Kamil took out a rifle and shot Nihal on his right cheek. The bullet came out of his temple and hit the electric pole behind him.
After committing the incident, the accused left the car there and ran away on foot along with the rifle. It is suspected that he wanted to commit the crime at the wedding itself, but due to the large crowd there and CCTV cameras installed, it was difficult to leave. That is why he chose the program organized in the village.
