Prostate cancer cases have started increasing in numbers now. This cancer is usually seen in the elderly, but now cases of prostate cancer are also being reported in younger men. Recently, a case has come to light in which the patient did not have any symptoms related to prostate cancer earlier, but the report revealed that he had cancer.
According to the news of Times of India, a person in Mumbai got a full checkup of his body done after 18 months of Covid only because his other friends were also doing the same. But when his test report came, he was shocked. According to Nikhil’s health report, cancer was growing in his prostate gland and it was seen to be quite dangerous.
Nikhil tells that at that time I was 55 years old and used to play tennis every day and I did not even suspect about cancer because I never saw any symptoms of it and as far as I think, this cancer occurs at the age of 70-80 years. Targets the elderly. But as soon as Nikhil came to know about his illness, he immediately consulted the concerned doctor. Doctors advised him to undergo surgery immediately as he had grade 8 prostate cancer.
Talking to Times of India, Dr. Anup Ramani and Dr. Amit Joshi said that now this cancer is being seen even in young men and unfortunately it is taking a more deadly form in the youth. Doctors told that till 6 years ago, we used to get 1 to 2 cases of young age in a month, but nowadays we see at least one young patient of this disease in OPD every day. All this is happening nowadays due to changing daily routine, eating habits, consumption of tobacco and alcohol.
What is prostate cancer?
Prostate cancer actually occurs in the prostate gland of men. The prostate gland produces a fluid that nourishes and transports sperm. Earlier this cancer was more common in men in their 40s and 50s, but now it is spreading more in men in their 80s.
getting more dangerous
It is believed that prostate cancer grows very slowly and many people are not even aware of it, due to which the person dies due to other natural causes. Doctor Joshi said that this cancer comes in a more dangerous form in the youth, but by the time it is detected, it has spread to other parts of the body as well.
