On Thursday, District Judge Ashish Garg’s court sentenced the man who was found guilty of strangling his wife to death in Mathura to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000. The guilty husband lost his senses as soon as he got the sentence. He started crying in the court.

On 16 September 2020, Rajnish Tripathi, a resident of village Chauhanapur, Shahjahanpur, lodged a case of murder of his sister Manju in Highway police station. It was alleged that he had married his sister about 10 years ago to Sudhir son of Brij Kishore, a resident of Govindpuram Colony Saraswati Kund. On the evening of 16 September, brother-in-law Sudhir told on the phone that his sister had committed suicide by hanging herself. When he reached the spot, Manju’s body was lying in the verandah of the house. There were marks of injuries on her body.

The postmortem report confirmed that the murder was committed by strangulation. The Highway Police arrested Sudhir on the basis of the case and sent him to jail. After investigation, the charge sheet was filed in the court. DGC Shivram Singh Tarkar said that the court has found Sudhir guilty on the basis of evidence and testimony in the murder of his wife Manju. After being found guilty, the court has sent him to jail in judicial custody. The court heard the point of punishment on Thursday afternoon. The accused has been sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000.
