Dharashiva: In Hinduism, cow is considered as Kamdhenu. Therefore, cows are worshipped. Recently, the need to protect the native cows has arisen. Therefore, Akbar Kushaldin Sheikh of the Muslim community of Dharashiv district has started a Gaushala. His Gaushala is really an inspiration for many people.

How to start a cowshed?
Andur is a village of Akbar Kushaldin Sheikh in Tuljapur taluka of Dharashiv district. While farming, he realized how important the company of cows is for the society. He experienced the mental satisfaction of having a cow and from that he decided to start a Gaushala for the protection of native cows. Actually, he realized the difference between cow slaughter and cow rearing and he started a big Gaushala.

Akbar started a cowshed
Today Akbar has 27 cows and 39 buffaloes. Some of these cows and buffaloes were going to the slaughterhouse. The police freed the cows and buffaloes. Akbar takes care of those cows and buffaloes. So there are some cows which he saved from the butchers. Despite being a Muslim, his decision to open a cowshed also faced some opposition. But he faced it very firmly. There are many animals in this cowshed started by Akbar. He understood the difference between cow slaughter and cow rearing. After starting the cowshed, he takes care of Bhakra cow, blind cow and buffaloes. Actually, this cowshed started by Akbar is an inspiration for many people.
