Supreme Court On AMU: The Supreme Court on Friday (November 08) by a majority of 4-3 in S. Rejected the 1967 decision in the Aziz Basha vs. Union of India case, which had formed the basis for denying minority status to Aligarh Muslim University. On the matter, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that this day is very important for the Muslims of India.
In a long post on social media platform It has been said that minorities have the right to establish and operate their own educational institutions in such manner as they deem appropriate.”
‘It doesn’t matter…’
He further said, “The right of minorities to educate themselves has been upheld. I congratulate all the students and teachers of AMU today. It does not matter whether the university was established before the Constitution or under the laws of the government. If it was established by the minorities then it is a minority institution. All the arguments of the BJP have been rejected.”
Asaduddin Owaisi’s attack on BJP
Attacking the BJP, the MP from Hyderabad said, “BJP has opposed the granting of minority status to AMU for so many years. What is it going to do now? It has started attacking our right to run AMU and Jamia and Madarsa.” BJP should introspect and improve its course.”
Asaduddin Owaisi said, “Modi government should take this decision seriously. It should support AMU because it is also a central university. Jamia gets Rs 3 lakh per student, AMU gets Rs 3.9 lakh per student , but BHU gets Rs 6.15 lakh. With the right support, Jamia and AMU can become famous globally. AMU’s Kishanganj center has been in a bad condition for the last many years. This should also be given immediate attention and the center should start functioning as soon as possible.
