Many things are used in making sweets, of which the most used is Mawa. This mawa is specially prepared in Bikaner, which is buttery. Due to this quality, Ghidar Mawa is in demand across the country. Thousands of quintals of mawa is prepared daily from Bikaner and goes to outside states. Sweets made from this mawa are also very good. There are many Mawa shops on Old Gajner Road in Bikaner, where Mawa comes daily. You can also call it the biggest Mawa-Mandi. This mawa is prepared from the villages around Bikaner and comes to the city.

Mawa-mandi shopkeeper Sanwarmal told that this mawa goes to many cities of Rajasthan including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh. They sell this mawa in the market for Rs 240 per kg. He told that the mawa which does not stick to the hands is considered as gheedar. 200 to 300 kg of mawa is consumed daily. Many things are prepared from this mawa.

Shopkeeper Sanwarmal tells that fresh milk is used in making mawa. Mawa is prepared from one quintal of milk in about an hour. This prepares 20 kg mawa.
