According to a study published in the journal Analytical Chemistry, tattoo ink contains many dangerous chemicals, which can cause irritation in the skin, lungs and liver. Not only this, it can even damage the kidneys and nervous system.
Tattooing can lead to AIDS risk
According to experts, many times the needle used for tattooing is not good and hence there is a risk of many dangerous diseases spreading through blood. This can cause very serious diseases like hepatitis-C, HIV or AIDS, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
Cancer risk from tattoos
According to Medical News Today, researchers from Sweden’s Lind University have found a risk of cancer from tattoos. They analyzed the Swedish National Cancer Register for 10 years from 2007 to 2017, which included people aged 20 to 60 years. This study found that people with tattoos had a 21 percent higher risk of lymphoma than those without tattoos.
The risk of lymphoma in those who got tattoos in the last 2 years was 81%. Researchers said that the chemical used in the tattoo ink can increase, decrease or negligible the risk of lymphoma. However, till now this connection is only claimed, so while getting a tattoo, definitely check for the right quality of ink and needle.
