Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, National Youth Day 2023: Swami Vivekananda, the promoter of Hindu religion, the knower of Vedas, full of spirituality, has shown a new opinion to all human beings and especially to the youth with his great and priceless thoughts and spiritual knowledge. This is the reason why he is called the inspiration of the youth and every year Vivekananda’s birth anniversary i.e. January 12 is celebrated as ‘National Youth Day’.

Life introduction of Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda was born in 1863 in the city of Calcutta. It is said that the first name of his childhood was Narendra Nath Dutt. He was intelligent and talented since childhood. At an early age, he got interested in spirituality. He became a monk at the age of 25 and wore saffron clothes.

When Vivekananda was in search of God, he met Swami Ramakrishna Paramhansa, the great saint, spiritual teacher and thinker of India. He was the most capable disciple of Ramakrishna Paramhansa. He served his Guru with complete dedication and became famous by walking on the path of his deeds.

When Ramakrishna Paramahansa died in 1886, Vivekananda established the Ramakrishna Mission in 1889 in memory of his guru and propagated the objectives of Vedanta given by him throughout his life. He spread the greatness of Hinduism worldwide through the propagation of Vedanta.

Swami Vivekananda died at a very young age. He breathed his last on July 4, 1902, when he was only 39 years old. It is said that Swami Vivekananda was suffering from many serious diseases. But despite this, he did not spare any effort in keeping his body healthy and in his lifestyle. In the last days of his life, he was with his disciples in Belur. According to his disciples, on the last day of his life i.e. 4th July, he meditated for two-three hours in the morning and for this he entered Brahmarandhra and took Mahasamadhi. Swami Vivekananda was cremated on a sandalwood pyre at Gangaghat in Belur.
