A case of beating of a youth by members of Hasan Chowk Durga Puja Committee for forcibly demanding donations and protesting has come to light in the city police station area of ​​Darbhanga district. The video of this incident is becoming increasingly viral on social media, which has spread anger among the local people. Taking the matter seriously, the police have started investigation and are conducting raids to identify and arrest the miscreants.

According to the information, members of the puja committee had forcibly reached Chaudhary Divyanshu’s house to demand a donation of Rs 1,100. When Divyanshu expressed his inability to give this amount, a member of the committee slapped him. After this, other members also joined the fight, due to which Divyanshu suffered serious injuries on his head. It can be clearly seen in the video that the committee members are beating Divyanshu mercilessly and then run away from the spot while threatening him.

After the video of the incident went viral, local people are expressing their displeasure over the forced collection of donations and arbitrariness of the committee. Sadar DSP Amit Kumar said that the police has taken cognizance of the viral video and the miscreants are being identified on the basis of the video. An FIR has been registered on the basis of the application given by the victim Divyanshu. As soon as the accused are identified, they will be arrested.

Sadar DSP has appealed to the Durga Puja committees not to try to forcefully collect donations from anyone. If any such complaint is received, strict legal action will be taken against the concerned persons.
