Now railways will also earn from advertisements on lifts, escalators etc. installed at stations. North Central Railway is taking initiative to implement this system. It is going to start from Prayagraj Junction. After this, it will be installed in lifts and escalators of railway stations like Kanpur, Mirzapur, Tundla, Aligarh etc. There will also be advertisements on the luggage trolleys provided to passengers in the coming days.
Advertisements are usually seen on the lifts and escalators installed at metro train stations running in many cities of the country. On the same lines, recently, Prayagraj Division of North Central Railway has also made preparations to earn money through advertisements through lifts and escalators installed at its major stations. Officials believe that while the lifts and escalators installed at major stations of Prayagraj division provide convenience to the passengers in getting on and off the foot overbridge, now the Railways will also get revenue through it.
These stations have been identified
On the lines of metro stations, the contract for commercial advertising will be given for three years through vinyl stickers on the lifts and escalators installed at Prayagraj Railway Station. Rs 12.51 lakh will be paid to the Railways every year by the concerned firm. Apart from this, this process for advertisement will also start on lifts and escalators installed at railway stations like Kanpur Central, Aligarh, Etawah, Tundla, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Chhivki etc. Senior DCM of Prayagraj division Himanshu Shukla has confirmed this.
