NEET paper leak case CBI Arrested four AIIMS doctors from patna


NEET UG Paper Leak: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken major action in the NEET paper leak case. The CBI team has arrested 4 students related to the paper leak case on Thursday (18 July). All the four students have been arrested from Patna, the capital of Bihar. The CBI says that these four students are MBBS students studying in AIIMS, Patna.

According to the CBI, three third year MBBS students Chandan Singh, Rahul Anant and Kumar Shanu and a second year student Karan Jain have been arrested by the CBI team after questioning. Officials said that the students were taken from their hostel rooms in the presence of senior faculty members of AIIMS. They were told that the students were needed for investigation. CBI officials say that the CBI team has also sealed their hostel rooms.

CBI questioned 4 students of Patna AIIMS

In this case, AIIMS Patna Director GK Paul said, “CBI has taken four students of AIIMS Patna with them. Chandan Singh, Rahul Anant and Kumar Shanu are third year students and Karan Jain is a second year student.” He said that a senior officer has sent him the pictures and mobile numbers of the students. Paul said that a CBI team has taken the students in the presence of the Dean, hostel warden and OSD (Officer on Special Duty) of the Director.

CBI arrested 2 accused yesterday

CBI officials said that two days before this, the CBI arrested Pankaj Kumar alias Aditya, a civil engineer of the 2017 batch of National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, on Tuesday. He is accused of stealing the NEET-UG question paper from the trunk of the National Examination Agency (NTA) in Hazaribagh. According to the CBI, Kumar, a resident of Bokaro, was arrested from Patna.

He said that the CBI has also arrested a person named Raju Singh, who allegedly helped Kumar in stealing the question paper. Whereas, Singh was arrested from Hazaribagh.

Till now CBI has registered 6 FIRs in NEET paper leak case

The CBI, which is investigating the alleged irregularities in the medical entrance exam, has registered 6 cases. While the FIR registered in Bihar is related to the leak of the question paper, the remaining cases registered in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra are related to cheating and impersonation of candidates. The agency’s own FIR, based on a reference from the Union Education Ministry, is related to a ‘comprehensive investigation’ into alleged irregularities in NEET-UG 2024.
