NEET Result 2024 Under Controversy: Will the exam be cancelled? Know what NTA says

A press conference was organized today regarding this. A committee of former UPSC chairmen and educationists will investigate the irregularities in NEET. The matter is limited to only 6 centers and 1600 candidates. 1563 candidates got grace marks, out of which 790 qualified.

It was said in the press conference that the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam are limited to only 6 centers and 1600 candidates. A new upper level committee has been formed to review the report of the expert committee. This committee includes UPSC The committee comprises former presidents and educationists of the University. The committee will submit its report in a week. After that a decision will be taken regarding the examination.

NTA denied the news of NEET UG 2024 paper leak and said that the exam was conducted as per the standards. 1563 candidates got grace marks in the NEET exam, out of which 790 candidates passed the exam due to grace marks. The rest of the candidates either got negative marks or could not pass. Grace marks have no effect on the overall results. Grace marks vary depending on the ability to answer etc.

This year, candidates had raised issues like high marks and multiple toppers in the NEET UG exam. The NTA DG said that as the answer key was revised, 44 students got marks ranging from 715 to 720 and the number of toppers also increased to 61.

What did the NTA Director General say?

NTA Director General Subodh Kumar Singh said that 1,600 students from about six centers were given wrong question papers and two to three students got torn OMR sheets, due to which they got less time to take the exam. Our instructions are that if the exam starts late, students should be given full time, as has happened in most centers, but at some centers the exam was conducted in such a way that students could not get full time.

The affected students approached the High Court demanding re-examination or compensatory marks. We replied to the High Court that we formed a committee of experts to look into the issue of lack of time. The decision was taken on the basis of its recommendation.
