NEET UG paper leak row: 67 students’ result on hold, Dharmendra Pradhan on NTA grace mark system ann

Neet Paper Leak Case: Amidst allegations of NEET UG paper leak, the results of many candidates across the country have been withheld. Sources have said that Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the results of 67 students across the country have been withheld by the NTA. A total of 70 exam centers were set up in Patna, out of which irregularities were found in the examination of 17 candidates and their results have been withheld.

‘Candidates’ demands were accepted’

According to sources, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “Whatever demands the candidates had, they have been accepted. There was a demand for action against NTA, that has been done. NTA’s DG has been changed. Students had started thinking that there is a problem in NTA’s system, which the government understood and we fixed it. There was no provision for grace marks system, but NTA did it.” According to sources, this is being considered the reason for the problem by the government and on this basis, NTA’s DG was changed.

‘Recommendations of the expert committee will be implemented’

According to sources, the Education Minister said, “The recommendations of the expert committee will be implemented before all the examinations conducted by NTA. The committee formed for the reform of NTA will submit its report by August 22. Whatever recommendations are made by the committee, NTA will implement them before the next examination.”

The Ministry of Education handed over the investigation to the CBI on Saturday (22 June) accepting the demand of students protesting in several cities to investigate the alleged irregularities in the NEET UG case. After this, the CBI registered a case on Sunday (23 June) under sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 420 (cheating).

The NEET-UG exam was held on May 5 at 4,750 centers across the country and about 24 lakh candidates appeared in it. The results of this exam were to be declared on June 14, but were declared on June 4.
