Nepal Former Pm KP Sharma Oli Spoke Against India Has Given Anti India Statements Before

KP Sharma Oli on India: Nepal’s ruling party UML President and former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has once again vented his anger against India on Saturday. He said that the neighboring countries are taking unnecessary interest in the formation of the government in the Himalayan country. Oli said this in a program organized in Kathmandu.

With the support of UML and Oli, Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has become the Prime Minister of Nepal. Earlier, Prachanda was with the Nepali Congress, the largest party in Parliament, but after refusing to hand over the post of Prime Minister to Prachanda, he came to power with the support of Oli.

Prior to the 20 November election, there was an alliance between the Nepali Congress and the Maoist Centre, where they contested together under the Democratic-Left Alliance. But after the election, the Nepali Congress refused to give Prachanda the post of Prime Minister at the last moment. Oli of UML got a chance and supported Prachanda.

‘This is a government formed by Nepalis’

On Saturday (January 6), Oli said that some neighbors are still trying to cross the wall and interfere in the country’s internal affairs. Oli said without naming India, this is a government formed by Nepalis. Efforts were made not to allow Nepalis to form the government. I urged my neighbors not to interfere in the process of forming our government. Some forces were trying to destabilize the politics of Nepal, but we gave it stability.

The former prime minister is known as a nationalist leader who won the election in 2017 under a nationalist plank. He again raised the issue of anti-India sentiment and borders during the November 20 election. With the support of the UML, Rashtriya Swatantra Party and others, Prachanda was sworn in as prime minister on December 26 last year.

They are trying to change the government by entering our house.

Oli said, some of our friends are entering our house by climbing the wall and not through the door and are trying to change the government, which is not possible. Such activity will not be accepted. I urge our neighbors not to interfere in Nepal’s internal affairs.

This is not the first time that Oli has vented his anger against India. Nepal released a new map in May 2020, when Oli was prime minister, that included the disputed area that is part of India, leading to a territorial dispute between the two neighboring countries.
