But new study has revealed that the color of both the planets is greenish-blue shade. Let us tell you that these two planets are also called diamond rain planets. Both these planets are made of huge ice. It turns out that previous photographs of Neptune were darkened to show details of the planet’s atmosphere, altering its original color.

Professor Katherine Hemans of Edinburgh University told BBC Radio that she first did something with the photos which everyone does today while uploading photos on Instagram. He said the blue color was thickened to show the features in Neptune’s atmosphere that we can see. This is why the before photo looks very blue. But actually the color of Neptune is similar to that of Uranus.
According to Professor Patrick Irwin of Oxford University, who led the research, astronomers have known for a long time that the pictures of the two planets do not look like their actual colors. He further said that artificial colors were known to planetary scientists at that time. Apart from this, when these pictures were released, this thing was also written in the caption. But that was lost with time. Apart from this, Dr. Robert Massey, Deputy Director of the Royal Astronomical Society, said that changing the colors of photographs is a normal process in astronomical research.
