Delhi’s new CM Atishi took charge as Chief Minister from Monday. During this, she said that the chair is vacant for Arvind Kejriwal and will wait for him. Information is being received that a cabinet meeting can also be called today. Atishi, along with her five cabinet colleagues, took oath of Chief Ministership and secrecy on September 21. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena administered the oath in a simple ceremony held at Raj Niwas. On this occasion, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with AAP’s top leadership and MLAs were present. Atishi’s parents also witnessed the swearing-in ceremony.
Atishi has become the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi barely five months before the assembly elections. After Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj was the first to take oath in her council of ministers, followed by Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and new member of the Delhi Cabinet Mukesh Ahlawat. After the swearing-in ceremony, Atishi touched the feet of Kejriwal present at the ceremony and took his blessings. Before reaching Raj Niwas, she reached the former CM’s residence in Civil Lines with her cabinet colleagues. From there, she reached the swearing-in ceremony with the top leadership of the party.
In her first statement after the swearing-in, Atishi said that former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has changed the face of Delhi in 10 years. Along with improving the basic infrastructure of education and health, he has given free electricity to the people. She alleged that he is not the Chief Minister today because the BJP filed false cases against him. But he did not break down, he did not get suppressed. Now all of us Delhiites have to unite and make Arvind Kejriwal the Chief Minister of Delhi again in the elections to be held in February. Atishi assured the people that now Arvind Kejriwal has come out of jail. Now the sewers in Delhi will be fixed, water problems will be solved, roads will be fixed. Now no conspiracy of the BJP will succeed.
