The number of students in the classes of Kendriya Vidyalayas has been reduced. Now more than 32 children will not be allowed admission in any class. Earlier this standard was of 40 children. There is resentment among parents due to this change. Due to this reason, admission is not taking place in classes other than class one. This change has been made under the new education policy.

There are 10 Kendriya Vidyalayas in the district. Children of military personnel get priority admission in these schools. After that, children from other categories are given admission on vacant seats. This time, when the admission guidelines were released, the number of children in each class has been reduced as compared to earlier. Online applications are being taken only for admission in class one. Forms are not being given for admission to classes from class 2 to class 11. Many schools have put up boards prohibiting admission in classes above two.

Principals said that the standard of students in the first class was 40. Every year, on an average, four or five children in each class left school due to transfer of parents and other children got admission in their place. This time the standard of the class has been reduced. Now that some children will leave school, the class capacity will still be more than 32. He told that now admission is being done only in class one. Online applications for that will be taken till April 15. The result of admission will be released on 22nd April. The admission process has to be completed by June 30.
