NIA Filed Chargesheet Against 20 PFI Members In The Murder Of BJP Leader Praveen Nettaru


NIA Chargesheet On PFI Members: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken major action on July 26, 2022 in the murder case of BJP’s Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Netru in Bellare village of Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. NIA has filed a charge sheet against 20 members of banned organization PFI. The NIA says that the purpose of this organization was to spread terror in the society and create fear among the people.

The anti-terror agency filed a case under sections 120B, 153A, 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 16, 18 and 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 and section 25(1)(a) of the Arms Act in a special court in Bengaluru. Chargesheet has been filed under. The agency said that out of 20 chargesheeted PFI members, six are absconding and rewards have been declared for information leading to their arrest.

Who’s who in the charge sheet?

The NIA said that Mahad Shiab, A Basheer, Riaz, M Pachar, Masood KA, Kodaje Mohd Sheriff, Abubakar Siddiq, Naufal M, Ismail K, K Iqbal, Shaheed M, Mahad Shafiq G, Umar Farooq MR, Abdul Kabir CA, Muhammad I Sha, Sanul Abid Y, Sheikh Hussain, Zakir A, N Abdul Haris, Thufail MH are named in the charge sheet.

PFI formed ‘Killer Squad’

The probe agency said that among the chargesheeted accused, Mustafa Peicher, Masood KA, Kodaje Mohammad Sheriff, Abubakar Siddique, Umar Farooq MR and Thufail MH are currently absconding. Investigation has also revealed that PFI had formed ‘Service Team’ or ‘Killer Squad’ to create terror, communal hatred and disturbance in the society.

Why was PFI banned?

It is noteworthy that on September 27, the Government of India, while taking major action on the Popular Front of India (PFI), had banned it for 5 years. The main basis of the ban on PFI is also that their cadres were continuously being given armed training, so that they could target a particular religion or community.
