Nirmala Sitharaman says Congress is spreading lies on Ram Mandir Agnipath Scheme during Chandigarh visit


Nirmala Sitharaman On Congress: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday (July 14, 2024) accused the Congress of spreading lies and making false statements against the BJP-led central government. She has asked party workers to expose this lie with facts and figures.

Addressing the issues of traders

Finance Minister Sitharaman said this while addressing the Chandigarh BJP State Working Committee meeting. Later, she held a meeting with traders and understood their issues as well as their demands. Referring to the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said that the Congress has failed to touch the figure of 250 seats in the last 10 general elections.

Pointing to the performance of the Congress in the last 10 Lok Sabha elections, he said, “Despite this, they have a false confidence.” The Finance Minister said, “India alliance of 13 political parties could win only 232 seats, while the BJP on its own won 240 seats.” He also said that in this year’s Lok Sabha elections, the Congress has won 240 seats. Lok Sabha Elections Congress could not win even a single seat in 14 states.

Congress accused of spreading lies

The finance minister accused the Congress of spreading lies and accusing the Prime Minister Narendra Modihome Minister Amit Shah And accused the opposition of distorting some statements of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He alleged that the opposition party has tried to spread lies on many issues including compensation to people for the land acquired for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, Agneepath scheme for short-term military recruitment and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

Finance Minister Sitharaman said, “The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh yogi adityanath said that his government had Ram Mandir A total compensation of Rs 1,733 crore has been given for the land acquired for this.” He also accused the Congress of making false statements against the Agneepath scheme.

The Finance Minister said, “We should take the Congress’ strategy seriously. An attempt is being made to attack the BJP by spreading lies and making false statements.” He said that every false statement spread by the opposition party, even on social media, should be immediately answered with facts and figures.

On the conduct of Congress leaders in Parliament, he said that they raise questions in the House, but when the ministers answer those questions, they walk out of the House. The Finance Minister said, “This is not the role of a constructive opposition.”
