The nomination process for the Lok Sabha elections will begin with the release of the notification from April 12. On April 11, administrative and police officials remained busy throughout the day finalizing the preparations. Along with the entry of candidates and their proposers, arrangements for parking of vehicles were also made in the Collectorate. During nomination, the Collectorate premises will be converted into a police cantonment.

The district administration has prepared a blueprint for nomination in the Lok Sabha elections. Nomination papers for nomination will be available for distribution from April 12. The nomination will take place in the courtroom of the District Magistrate. Nomination papers can be filed or submitted by the candidate himself or by one of his proposers from 11 am to 3 pm. You can get nomination papers from Returning Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Lavgeet Kaur. A candidate from a recognized political party or a recognized state party and a candidate from an unrecognized party or an independent candidate will submit nomination papers along with 10 proposers.

These documents must be included

Nomination letter will be submitted in Format-2A, along with affidavit in Format-26, certified copy of electoral roll (when the candidate is an elector of a different constituency), caste certificate in Format-A and B, security money. And sworn affirmations will also be attached and submitted/filed. A maximum of four nominations can be submitted for a candidate for election in the same constituency. Under election expenditure monitoring, every candidate is required to open a new bank account specifically for the purpose of election. Its details will have to be given to the Returning Officer while filing nomination papers. As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, half of the security amount of Rs 25,000 i.e. Rs 12,500 (due to Scheduled Caste reservation) will have to be deposited along with the challan nomination letter.
