It seemed as if Ramrajya had started on January 22 in the district infamous for chaos. With the consecration of the immovable idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, the crime graph in Bareilly suddenly went down. Where communal clashes used to occur regularly, 279 processions were taken out in an atmosphere of harmony.
Not a single case was registered in 24 out of 30 police stations in Bareilly district. In the other six police stations also, only 25 percent of the daily cases were registered. In the Pran Pratishtha program, 20 percent of the police staff of the district has gone on Ayodhya duty. Due to this, the officials were worried about some untoward incident. However, there was an atmosphere like Ramrajya in the district.
Only eight reports were registered in 30 police stations of the district. Two reports each were registered in Baheri and Bhojipura, one report each in Cantt, Premnagar, Bisharatganj and Fatehganj East. Some good work of the police was also involved in these. There were some frauds and general matters. According to police department officials, on normal days, 50 to 60 cases are registered daily in the district.
Processions took place at sensitive places
The Bankhana area of the city is sensitive. There was no opposition when Ramdoot came out dancing and singing. At many places, people from other communities welcomed the processions by showering flowers. 151 processions were taken out in the rural areas. Of these, 70 processions were taken out in the highly sensitive Baheri area. SP Dehat Mukesh Mishra kept roaming in the towns the whole day. Heaved a sigh of relief in the evening.
