Following the attack, Portman kidnapped two Sentinelese adults and four children and took them to Port Blair, the capital of the South Andaman Islands.

After the attack, Portland wrote extensively about Sentinel Island. He created a collection of photographs to document the research, which discusses many of the inappropriate things related to the bodies of these tribes. Even after the attack, Portman tried to return to North Sentinel Island more than once over the next few years, but the Sentinels kept hiding from him each time.
