This new research is being done in Bikaner. Along with farmers, common people will also benefit from this. Indian scientists have transferred olive oil into groundnut variety. Now people will get the taste of olive oil in peanuts which is very beneficial for health. Now farmers will also benefit greatly from this research and they will also be able to earn a good amount from this groundnut variety.
This is how olive peanuts are made
Dr. Narendra Kumar, officer in-charge and senior scientist of Groundnut Research Center Beechwal, said that peanuts from Bikaner are sent to the country and abroad. This is considered quite good. Its production has started at the Groundnut Research Directorate of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Bikaner Centre, Beechwal, Gujarat. Production started here in the year 2020. This is the Ginnar-4 variety of groundnut. Olive oil has been transferred in it. Therefore, now the taste of olive oil will be found in peanuts. Its production is now happening in Bikaner. Farmers of Bikaner will get this variety in the next two to three years. This will further improve the quality of the oil.
Ginnar 4 protects from heart diseases
Narendra Kumar tells that this variety of groundnut, Ginnar-4, arrived four years ago in 2020. This peanut protects from heart attack. It contains unsaturated fatty acids which helps in preventing heart disease. The market price of olive oil is Rs 1000 per litre. However, peanuts are sold for 400 to 500 rupees. Now due to presence of olive in peanuts, farmers can earn good income by selling these peanuts at higher prices. This peanut oil can be kept for a long time. The quality of peanuts is also better.
