Oath to the President of India

The Chief Justice of India i.e. the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court administers the oath of office and secrecy to the first citizen of India. In the absence of the Chief Justice, the most senior judge of the Supreme Court administers the oath to the President. In Article 60 of the Constitution, it is clearly mentioned about administering the oath to the President. The tenure of the President is 5 years.

The President of India appoints the Chief Justice, Supreme Court and High Court judges of the states, Governors, Election Commissioners and ambassadors to other countries.
