Satna: A unique action of the Electricity Department has been seen in the Satna urban area of ​​Madhya Pradesh. Adopting a new method, the department’s staff is taking attachment action in the houses of the consumers of the city regarding electricity bill defaulters. This sight is common in the city these days. And even if it is, there are about 90 thousand consumers in the urban area, out of which electricity bills of about 45 thousand are outstanding. This outstanding amount is more than 11 crores.

Apart from this, if we talk about government departments, then about 10 government departments in the city have outstanding bills of more than one crore. Till now about 12 thousand notices have been issued to the people in the urban areas by the Electricity Department. If we talk about big defaulters in urban areas, then they have outstanding bills of up to Rs 5 lakh. Apart from this, electricity bill of lakhs of rupees is outstanding on government departments as well.

More than 41 attachment actions have been taken
In this regard, Amit Kumar Kewat, Executive Engineer of Electricity Department said that there are 90 thousand consumers in Satna city, out of which 45 thousand have not deposited the electricity bill. Due to this, attachment action is being taken continuously and connections are also being disconnected continuously. Attachment action is going on against the persons who are not depositing the electricity bill despite issuing the notice. So far, the houses of more than 41 people have been attached.

Bikes and scooties are also being picked up
It was further told that Rs 1 crore 63 lakh is due on government departments, against whom action is also going on and connections are being severed. In attachment, movable and immovable property including bikes, scooties, machines are being seized from people’s homes and appeals are also being made to the people to deposit the bills regularly, so that any action can be avoided.
