We all have heard the stories of the wisdom and bravery of the tribals. But what the tribals of Tamil Nadu did is going to inspire us all. The plant which was poisonous for the forest and wild animals, that is, after eating which the animals used to die, the land became barren, collected those plants and made beautiful elephants out of it. Recently, their exhibition was organized at Elliot beach in Chennai, to see which thousands of people reached.
Campaign to remove poisonous plants
IAS officer Supriya Sahu IAS officer Supriya Sahu gave information about this by sharing a video. In the tweet, he wrote, 70 tribals of Mudumalai have worked hard to make these beautiful elephants from Lantana Weed. In Tamil Nadu we have removed Lantana Camara, Prosopis and other poisonous plants from 1200 hectares of forest so far #TNForest. The IAS officer said that the replicas of the elephants were made by members of tribal communities who live near Mudumalai National Park in collaboration with Shola Trust, a non-profit organisation.
