Keeping in view the demand of the customers, the shopkeepers are engaged in ensuring its availability. Due to this we have got Sanjivani. Earlier people used to ask for diyas and earthen utensils only on Diwali, but now they feed their families by making Kulhads and other utensils. Compared to plastic and paper glasses, people are now preferring to drink tea in Kulhad. Due to this, the business of making pottery of potters has once again come back on track.

80 rupees are given to a hundred shopkeepers

According to the community of potters who make earthen pots, it costs about Rs 3,500 to extract one trolley of soil from the pond, including labor and freight etc. On the other hand, the cost of making Kulhad and cooking it in the fire is different. The potter sells the kulhad to the shopkeeper at the cost of 80 paise. Dukhan Pandit told that earlier there used to be a selected shop in every block, where tea with kulhad was available. In these places now usually everyone demands tea in Kulhad only.
