Let us tell you that after ‘3 Idiots’, Omi Vaidya did not do many films in Bollywood because he could not get challenging roles. After this film, he appeared in only four films. These include ‘Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji’, ‘Desi Boys’, ‘Players’ and ‘Jodi Breakers’. All of these were released by 2012.
In 2016, while speaking to PTI, Omi said, “I am grateful to be remembered for my role in 3 Idiots because most people work their whole lives to get that kind of fame. I got into this profession because I wanted to do something different. 3 Idiots was very challenging because I didn’t know the language and I didn’t grow up in India. After 3 Idiots, I did a lot of other projects which I enjoyed doing. I also got very good fees and people appreciated it. Life is about constant learning. Some people are happy just earning good money but I want to keep moving forward and for that you have to do different things. I try to do something different.”
